personal technology in the military
February 2nd, 2009 at 9:44 amwhat percentage of soldiers that you currently serve with have ipods? have mp3 players? have laptops?
being a mac guy yourself, are you frowned upon for being so on a pc dominated field?
would soldiers be better off with a set of cards ad some dominoes rather than their forms of personal tech?
how many macs have you seen since being deployed?

December 22nd, 2008 at 12:30 pmjohn,
assuming that you have the new apple composite cables, not the older model that plugged into the headphone jack but the new one that connects thru the dock… (used the suppled cable that came with the projector and connect just the yellow (video) to the apple yellow composite wire.
on your iphone go to settings, then scroll down to ipod. click on ipod. where it says video mine currently reads
start playing: where left off
closed captioning: off
tv out
widescreen; OFF
tv signal: NTSC
after you make sure those settings are accurate exit the setting and click on the photos icon, select the folder you wish to use and click on it
click the play button in the middle
what software version are you using? are you using a 3g iphone?
if this doesnt work please let me know and i can contact you via email or im and walk you thru it.

Blackberry Bold
October 8th, 2008 at 4:09 pmI can’t wait to here your first impressions. I love my iPhone because it works so well with many aspects of os x but I do admit that rim has a very solid product line and there are many features that the blackberry has that I wish the iPhone had (blackberry messenger, true push (not just email) and so on….
How does the bold work with iCal, iTunes, address book? Is there a app store? Everyone has one now right?
Is the blackberry one of the best things to ever come out of Canada? Answer in the comments section?
genderly speaking.
October 2nd, 2008 at 6:58 amapparently the sexiness factor is true for both males and females. i too was a bit disappointed when i realized that there wasnt a easy way to push all my gmail accounts to my iphone and also there isnt a app that competes with blackberry messenger.
the cohesiveness between the iphone, ical, address book, mail, safari, and itunes really is impressive. this along with mobile me really makes me feel like i am digitally connected and efficient.
aside from all of this, the iphone is plain and simple a fun device. it is as simple or complex as you want it to be, that is the beauty of the app store.
Discovering Zimbra
September 29th, 2008 at 10:25 pmsounds perfect. does it push to your iphone? or are you past that and on to the blackberry already? why the switch back?
setting up gmail to push to the iphone is a pain. my wife has 3 different accounts and unfortunately cant figure out how to get all of them to go into the same inbox. kind of a pain. i wish google start offering push for gmail. well.. i guess they do with android.
how much does zimbra cost? is it a monthly fee?
