itunes variable pricing.

itunes variable pricing is now in effect. i like the part about paying 69 cents for some track but the $1.29 seems a bit steep.
your thoughts?

the three rumors that are floating around right now are….
- apple branded hdtv with built in wireless connectivity and full access to itunes media. pretty much apple tv built into a hdtv. (rumor compliments of former engadget owner jason calacanis)

itunes store will stay open.

today the copyright royalty board handed down their decision on the mechanical rate that songwriters and publisher receive from downloaded digital content. the request for the increased rate of 15 cents per song was denied and the current rate of 9.1 cents will remain.

here is a statement from apple regarding the request from the record industry for an increase in royalties. the request asks for an increase in rates from 9 cents to 15 cents a track.
